‘My Sharona’ is Top Real Estate Agent with Sotheby’s
September 26, 2009
Since being immortalized in the song “My Sharona” by The Knack (at the tender age of 17) the real Sharona — Sharona Alperin — has become a successful real estate agent with Sotheby’s International Realty.
According to WalletPop.com, Knack leader Doug Fieger co-wrote the song about Sharona because he had a crush on her. In the article, Sharona discusses the state of the celebrity real estate market, Los Angeles and the 30-year anniversary of “My Sharona.”
On her Web site, Sharona says she sells “”the most emotional product on the market, because a star’s home is their only safe haven.”
It seems that she does it quite well since she has been named named #1 in sales for five straight years at Sotheby’s.
